Episode #70 - We Wear Women’s Clothing

icon for podpress  We Wear Women's Clothing: Download

With your hosts Sarah, Melody, and Kimberly.

Performance Review (01:11): “Gay Witch Hunt” - Stamford means business - who knew that a job well done could be so depressing? Jim is sad, Pam is sad, and since we live vicariously through them, we’re sad too. Oh, and by the way, Oscar is gay.

Email Surveillance (33:07): We take on the issue of whether or not the second season is the Golden Age of “The Office.” (Here’s a hint: yes.)

I think Season 2 is definitely the Golden Age of the Office.

There are two reasons why Season 2 is so good.

    1. Jim and Pam - There is so much electricity between these two. The flirtation is never as good as it is in Season 2. If Jim and Pam are our entries into the show, they are very happy entries at this time because it is so fun to watch them.

    2. It’s not the UK Office anymore! Most of the first season’s plot lines are just recycled from the UK Office. With a great start like the Dundies, “the US version of the Office” becomes “the Office”. And Drunken Beesly going “Woooooo!!” into the camera is a call to the viewers that this ain’t British product anymore!

Let’s be a bit more cheery next time, girls! After this last week, I burned my 3rd season DVD and cancelled my preorder of Season 4! Nah, it wasn’t that bad, but come on, ladies! Let’s smile a bit more when we podcast! :)

Robin I agree…I just finished watching the British version and Season 2 was where the American Office really took off on its own. I empathize with the ladies though…having to go back and watch Gay Witch Hunt is not an overly pleasant experience. Coupled with the fact that it began the Season of Angst where to this day we don’t know for sure if Pam and Jim will truly end up together.

    OH!

    It was the BELTBUCKLES!

I totally didn’t catch that. I’ve watched that episode three or four times, and I always wondered how Jim managed to pull that off all the way in Stamford.

    I’m a loser.
