Episode #76 - The Love Room
With your hosts Kimberly, Melody, and Sarah.
Performance Review (00:56): “Weight Loss” - Angela hitches a ride on the slow train from Philly, Stanley fights the power, Holly rocks Michael’s world (and ours), Ryan finally goes clean-shaven, and everyone in the office learns a valuable lesson about what it means to love oneself and each other thanks to that monster beautiful man, Michael Klump. The true weight that was lost, though, was the weight that was lifted off the shoulders of every Jim and Pam fan when Jim finally got his act together in a gas station parking lot.

Still listening, just wanted to mention: It wasn’t a parking lot, it was a gas station that they got engaged in. =)

Great ‘cast as usual ladies! I thought the premiere was good. I do have an opinion about Pam and am wondering what you guys think. Since the beginning of season 4, I have thought that Jenna was acting less and less in the role of Pam Beesly and more just playing as herself. I thought this was really noticable in the S5 season premiere.
Now I understand the reasoning behind her character’s growth and such, but the transformation seems to be into an entirely different person. Maybe the plan all along was to have Pam become more like the person Jenna is IRL but was just curious everyone’s thoughts on that.

Hello Ladies!
Just wanted to make a quick comment on your notice of all of the Mac product placement in the premiere. While I very much agree with you about The Office’s return to iTunes having something to do with it, I have another idea for you to consider. I work for a graphic design studio and we, as do many in our industry, use Macs in our studio. Since Pam is attending a art/graphic design program, wouldn’t it make sense that the majority of students would be using the tools (or computers and programs) that they would eventually use in the real job market?
Just a thought. LOVE your show SO much. Keep doing what you’re doing!

Chloe nailed it about Mac placement. And as a rule Apple does not pay for product placement. They don’t have to. The set dressers who are responsible for props prefer Macs for their aesthetic value.

wanted to say 2 things
1. congrats to Robin from the Trivia War Podcast because he got married yesterday
2. One reason to hate Toby is because he’s a creepy perv. Take note in the 2nd deleted scene Toby talks about how the woman of the couple is amazing any
else find that odd? hmmmm

Maybe I’m being dense but what is clever about the proposal being in a parking lot?

because that’s where he told Pam he loved her hence why “What are you doing?” was so special.

Hey I’m a first time listener, I really enjoyed your podcast. I just wanted to comment on it not being believable that Pam would be an R.A when it was only a 3 month program. But I think it makes a lot of sense because R.A’s get paid for being R.A’s and have other benefits sometimes like free food and having their own room, so it would make sense that since Pam isn’t working at the office anymore she would still want to be earning some money to pay for school, etc.

Apparently Matt Sommer thinks he owns all the rights to producing a podcast about The Office ladies.

Lara, you’re definitely allowed to not like Holly. To each their own! For instance, if you listen to more episodes of the podcast you’ll hear how much Melody loooves Karen, whereas Kimberly and I like her well enough, but don’t looove her like Melody does. Thanks for commenting - it’s nice to hear other people’s perspectives on characters.

Allison, I guess my disbelief at Pam’s being an R.A. stems more from the fact that it’s her first semester at the school. Wouldn’t they usually pick someone who knows the school better? But I admit I’m not the best judge, since I never lived in a dorm when I was in college. I agree, though, about the the extra income - Pam would need it!

I have another 2 things to say:
1. Like Lara I listen to both office podcasts and I love both shows in diffrent ways. And Matt from TWSS recently said,”Long live the two podcasts.” on the comment board.
2.I forgot to metion as a mac book user I will drop some knowladge on yah. They where using iChat which is basically an AIM only a bit different because it’s an application that comes on the computer and as long as it’s on internet network you can get online and hence the video chat came to be.

Yes, long live all Office podcasts! I’ve seen several others listed in iTunes, and it just gives people more opportunity to indulge their love for The Office and hear different points of view.

Friendly or not…Matt specifically states how annoyed he was that these ladies decided to “copy” his podcast. Low-class to publicly say IMO.

Couldn’t agree more, about Ryan losing everything and having to contact Michael.
Just discovered your podcast. I will be listening to all the archives!
