Thanks for the podcast. I really liked the ending. It was perfect for a long distance relationship. It doesn’t matter if it was contrived. That’s art! You can nitpick Shakespeare and Scorcese all day long for contrivances, but that doesn’t make them less awesome.

I rolled my eyes at the ending. It wasn’t art to me, it was standard sitcom formula and the writers used to do better than this. Compare that last scene to The Carpet’s last scene. Hands down Pam’s voicemails to Jim held much more weight back then rather than this kooky simultaneous missed-call-lets-talk-about-the-exact-same-thing scene. Contrived but oh so NOT awesome.

Craig, I could not disagree with you more, but the good news is, you are not an Office staff writer. I think I’ll go with the people who live and breathe The Office and get paid well for it. :D

Just to remind everyone, Rashida Jones is not on The Office anymore and hasn’t been for a year. Lots of us don’t care about Karen or what she/Rashida is doing!

Youre right Cool Guy Ryan. But guess what? It people like me NOT the writers who keep this show on tv. The best-written shows will always get axed if no one watches. Oh and Ryan - guess I’m not the only one who disliked this episode huh? Go check out how many people this show lost from last week.
Oh yeah - and these same brilliant writers wrote Dwight birthing a buttered-up watermelon and Michael driving a car into a lake. Hand them an emmy now!

My friend’s name is Astrid…I now call her Astird. She loves the office too, but feels a little angry because the world has begun to call her that :D
