Hi Office Alliance.
I liked Golden Ticket, but it was difficult to enjoy this episode because Michael was such a … horrible person.
Episode #91 was very good. You did a great job, and I had fun listening.
Favorite moment:
“I hope Jim gets the money. Cause he’s hot.”
Thanks,
Daniel.

I was surprised by how much you ladies disliked this episode, but I understand it. I myself have come to the conclusion that our beloved Office is past its prime and should have ended its run with this season. Anything past season 5 will just be shenanigans to be taken with a tablespoon of salt. The plots are broken but the funny is still there…considering what is generally available on television, I’ll take what I can get.
Thoughts on the show’s run? Is Ben Silverman just gonna run it into the ground because it’s his only money maker? Is Parks and Rec screwing up the focus of the Office team? This and more next time on The Office Alliance Podcast :)

Jessica I agree about the Parks and Rec thing. With Daniels focused on getting his new pet show off the ground, the lack of focus can be seen in The Office. This has been a very uneven season running the spectrum of wacky cartoon humor to pretty dark drama. That along with some glaring continuity mistakes really make it feel like he is not paying all that much attention to it these days.

I don’t think The Office is suffering and I certainly wouldn’t put it out to pasture yet. I think it’s no longer fresh and new and novel, and it’s human to get bored of something you’ve seen again and again.
It’s just a perception of some people that it’s already jumped the shark, but that’s not the reality. Maybe some people should go on to some other show and not stick around to whine, complain, and ruin it for the people who are enjoying it.

@ Cool Guy Ryan: I’m not trying to bring anybody down with my comments about this show. I am merely expressing my disappointment with the unfortunate storylines which I find to be lacking in realism. I watch 30 Rock for its complete ridiculousness and The Office for the more emotional connection with the characters’ stories. Granted, not all of the storylines on TO have been particularly realistic, i.e. The Injury, but the anonymity/everyday quality of the characters once was pretty convincing. I still like The Office, but I no longer gush about it. And I hardly think that telling people who have misgivings about the show’s direction to stop watching is really going to help anything.
What are your reasons for watching? Do you have any qualms with the show?

Simply put, I wouldn’t go on vacation in Italy with people who complain about the prices or the crowds when the food, art, and architecture are so great. Yeah, I try to stay away from such people.
