Melody and Sarah, did I hear right on your podcast this week that you wish The Office ended after this season? You don’t want a 6th? Good lord, why are you still doing a podcast if you feel that way? You’re not getting a paycheck from this, so what’s the deal? I see podcasts as an outlet from superfans for other superfans. If you’re no longer a superfan, what’s the point?

It makes me no longer want to listen to your show, and create my own.

I happen to completely disagree with the previous poster and agree with you all. I feel like the show has more to do, but at the same time the last thing I want to happen is for the show to be drawn out.

Sometimes I think a superfan means loving a show but also having a strong desire for said show and its writers/creators to maintain a certain level of quality. I’d say the “superfans” are split on the Office right now: Those who love every episode no matter what and those who feel the show is losing its touch. One of my friends is the former, another is the latter, and another friend and I feel like we’re in the middle. But we all agree that the show SHOULD end with the sixth season.

Um they AREN’T getting paid for this so they can say whatever the **** they want. You can either make your own podcast or go troll the official boards - they all seem to think The Office can do no wrong too.

And by the way this is FREE so by all means don’t listen if you don’t like it.

I have been a fan of the show since day one - I started with the pilot unlike alot of fans now and I can see how they should have ended it this year. The writing is very inconsistent and the stories and jokes are more miss than hit with Greg Daniels focusing all of his energy on Parks and Rec now.
So because I think this once great show has lost its touch I’m not a fan? No, it means I’m not a fanboy who worships at the altar of Daniels and co.

Sonic Weapon Fence? I guess you are a supefan of the official lost podast too…

On a completely separate note, I love how the one sentence you picked from my email to read was the most grammatically convoluted and worst written sentence I’ve almost ever written.

    Much like that one.

You know it’s bad when the hostess has to stop partway through and figure out how to read the finish of a single sentence.

I’m sort of a little bit proud of that.

After reading the above posts (Mike, you crack me up!), I’ve just come to realize something. As much as we all want the best for The Office and everyone involved, the fandom does squabble about when the show should end. But what will happen when it does? People will be out of a job. To be hired again who knows when? (although, having worked on this show is probably gonna look reeeal good on a resume!) Though I am an advocate for the “end it now” camp, I kind of feel guilty for feeling that way.

Anyway, here are a couple of good Office-y things!
A link to a BBC article that I know you’ll laugh at: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/bradford/7962212.stm

And Greg Daniels was included in Rolling Stone’s 100 Agents of Change list! http://www.rollingstone.com/news/story/26754176/the_rs_100_agents_of_change
